Appeal to XIMB alumni and others
Thank you for visiting this blog regularly to get quiz updates. Today, I am requesting you to spend a few minutes reading this post, the links to this post and sign a petition.
My alma mater, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar now part of the newly formed Xavier University Bhubaneswar is going through a crisis. My two respected Professors who taught me Finance, namely Prof Bani Kant Mishra and Prof DV Ramana during my PGDM programme between 1990 and 1992 have been terminated abruptly by the management of XUB.
The entire details of the incident and the followup action by the alumni is described in detail in this article by Nageswar Patnaik titled “XIMB Directors draw flak for dismissing 2 Professors” The past students of these Professors are enraged at this action. This is well put in the above mentioned article, which is excerpted below :
” Current and past students of two professors said what they were really objecting to was the way they were simply sent a letter saying their services were terminated, access to their official email id and telephone were abruptly blocked, and one month notice given to vacate their quarters in the campus. “
These are two Professors who have dedicated their entire life to XIMB, Bhubaneswar and the state of Odisha. Professionally, both have a stellar record and everyone who has come in contact with them will vouch for their integrity and commitment. They have been great role models to the thousands of students who learnt from them. Personally, I gave gained immensely from them and I am deeply pained by the action meted out to them by the XIMB management.
The alumni of XIMB have come together through an initiative of Debabrat Mishra, a 1991 alumnus, to move a petition to the Chief Minister of Odisha titled “Make XIMB and XUB Board more credible”.
This is through change.org and it has already received over 1300 signatures. The target is to achieve 2000 signatures. I request you to sign this petition which can be accessed here.
Thanks for reading.
