1. Maggi – A brand from Nestle represents Instant Noodles or Ramen
2. Band-Aid – A Johnson and Johnson brand that has become generic for adhesive bandage or a medicated plaster
3. Bisleri- A brand from Parle that is generic for bottled water
4. Godrej – A brand that has many products but is often used as a generic for steel almirahs
5. Xerox – A brand from Xeroc USA that is used generically for all photocying machines as well as a verb
6. Jeep – A brand from Stellantis that is used for SUVs or open-top all terrain vehicles
7. Fevicol – A brand of Pidilite Industries that is used for all white adhesives
8. Dalda – A brand from Lever bros. sold to Bunge Ltd. Dalda was a generic word for all vanaspati ( veg cooking oil ). At one time Dalda was more famous than Hindustan Lever.
